New products from Allergan

U.S.-based Allergan on Thursday introduced its next-generation hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler formulation in India used by beauty clinics to enhance facial aesthetics by treating folds and wrinkles, and announced plans to introduce more products in the healthcare and aesthetic skincare business.

Launching'Juvederm Voluma', an advanced HA formulation that provides facial volume lasting up to 18 months, Allergan Healthcare India Managing Director Raghu Kumar said: We are extending our next-generation dermal filler portfolio to physicians and patients in India so they have more options to choose from and can tailor treatment to each patients desired results. Our ongoing commitment to physician training also helps ensure optimal treatment results and high patient satisfaction."

Allergan was launching Juvederm Voluma in India through a series of comprehensive, hands-on training sessions for physicians and it would be available as physician-administered medical aesthetic treatments in leading aesthetic clinics across India, he said. "Aesthetic skincare is a big focus area of the company. India is an untapped market and we see a huge potential. We plan to introduce a lot of other products for breast implants and obesity soon from our global portfolio," Mr. Kumar added.

Launched over a decade ago, Allergan India is a joint venture between Allergan Inc and Nicolas Piramal, India that operates in four different verticals of business, including eyecare, medical aesthetics, neurosciences and clinical research. It is hoping to clock annual revenue of Rs.100 crore soon. Allergan now markets its products from about 700-800 skin and beauty clinics across the country.
